At the Magnolia Creative Complex, you can film Key West sunsets — all morning, the Vatican by noon, and a car chase through Brooklyn that same afternoon. No longer are producers, filmmakers, and budgets plagued by Mother Nature or budget-crushing logistics. With the immersive large format virtual volume LED stage, and fully articulated ceilings, Directors are able to conjure up magic hour all day, whip up sleet storms, volcanic eruptions, starry nights, and an occasional hurricane.

The 55-acre Magnolia Creative Complex delivers an unexpected and distinctively european experience for filmmakers and guests from around the world. Located in Tyrone, Georgia, this private production studio is a convenient 20-minute drive south of Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

Virtual production is our answer to successful 3-D requirements. Our high-resolution LED WALL makes filming easier, faster and cheaper. On an area of … (?) sqm there are huge panels with Ultra Bright 4500 NIT LEDs in a semicircle of 270° (?).The shots can be filmed here – at least in sequence – in our studio and are therefore independent of the weather, location and time of day. In contrast to a greenwall, the producers see the result immediately during the shoot and the actors do not have to make up the artificial reality. Synchronisation with 3-D effects is thus more feasible. In addition, the actors are illuminated and shaded by the reflection from the LED Wall just as they would be in reality. Complicated retouching and post-production is therefore largely unnecessary. In addition, the backgrounds can be exchanged in a matter of seconds. This means that several scenes can be shot directly on the same day and at the same location. This saves time, work and costs.

Mixed reality or virtual production is the future for films in fantastic worlds and remote locations: with it, shots can be filmed on supposed mountain peaks or the moon without much effort. With real-time rendering game software and ray-tracing technology, the background follows the movement of the film camera and creates a parallel-axis image. The LED presentation thereby adapts to the movements of the camera in terms of perspective and physics. The result is thus an artificial reality that becomes even more real through perspective distortion than in conventional 3-D animations, for example. Our high-resolution LED lighting uses “ultrablack” technology to create the darkest black and the brightest white. This creates a breathtaking depth effect with an atmospheric spatial ambience.

Our virtual Studio 1 presents the latest technology for successful film production. Films such as “God of Mars” and future films such as “Dashing Through The Snow”, “Miller’s Girl” and “Hot Take: Prisoner of Love” have already been successfully filmed or are being filmed with Mixed Reality. Magnolia Studios offers a mounting system of up to … (?) kg and a 4-square ceiling (?). With our “first-ever inpanel tracking solution for LED volumes” and our pixel suspension system, theatrical effects become possible like never before. Our quick-lock technology also allows LED panels to be changed in seconds.
